Love Poems Aren’t Just For People: An Ode to Leggings

Leggings, you're my fave, with your forgiving, stretchy fabrics and funky patterns. I'll probably never wear pants with buttons again.By Sarah Webster Plitt

My curvy mom bod

Has a tried and true friend

Made from a

Poly/Spandex/Lycra blend

As soon as I found you

My jeans were demoted

You fit on my fat days

You fit when I’m bloated

No battles with zippers

Or buttons that pop

Your stretchy waist band

Conceals my muffin top

Your solids are slimming

And fit me just right

Your fun, funky patterns

Hide my cellulite

You work ‘round the clock

As pajamas and more

You’re great for the gym

Or a trip to the store

You’re comfy and cute

With some flats and a shirt

You’re perfect with boots

And a fab little skirt

I dress you right up

With a blouse and some heels

Your sweet versatility

Gives me the feels

Oh leggings, I love you

You make this mom smile

I pray that you won’t

Ever go out of style
