What College Freshmen Would Say If They Were Honest

It's the start of another school year, which means college move-in day. Here's what college freshmen would say if they were honest.

Ahhhh, college. Such a great time in many young adults’ lives. A time of learning. A time of making lifelong friends.

A time of getting wasted and making terrible decisions.

I maintain to this day that I would be a professional college student if living in the dorms, hanging out late-night with friends, and attending class semi-regularly without looking like the creepy old person at the bar were possible. But alas, it’s not. And I don’t have a trust fund to pay for a lifetime of debauchery.

Many parents are sending their precious children off to university life for the first time this fall, releasing them into the kingdom of pseudo-adulthood on a meager monthly allowance and a prayer. And for those parents, I am sorry. Truly, truly sorry, both that your once-toddling babies are now nearly grown and flown and that you will undoubtedly be spending your days ceaselessly worrying about whether or not they are making it to class, doing their laundry at least once a semester, and behaving with some manner of responsibility and sense.

For those of you who remember the good old days and long to taste its sweet nectar once more or those of you who just want a chuckle (and maybe a panic attack) as your children enter this new phase of their lives, here’s a funny and relatable BuzzFeed video detailing what college freshmen would say if they were honest on move-in day.

Enjoy!
