GIVEAWAY: Autographed Book and Amazon Gift Card!

I’m hosting my first ever giveaway on this here blog, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!  Up until now, I’ve been a giveaway virgin, mostly because I don’t have anything worth giving away (minus that dirty childhood doll with the missing eye and oddly misshapen leg), but also because I didn’t know how to give things away on my site.

Still not an expert.

But I’ve learned they make automated services for that kind of thing, so that’s what I’ve decided to use: A robot that will keep track of entrants and randomly pick a winner when the contest concludes.  I love robots.  Except Terminator robots.  Those aren’t very nice robots.  (OMG, what if the automated service I’ve selected is an organization of undercover Terminator robots disguising themselves as blog contest software until the perfect opportunity to take over the world presents itself?!  WHAT IF THIS IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY?!  Don’t worry; it’s not.  I’m 99% sure.)

Interested in entering?  Of course you are!  You may be wondering:

What are you giving away?

Good question.  I’m giving away a signed copy of my new book, Who Pooped on the Corpses? And Other Pressing Life Concerns (I’m not famous yet, but when I am, you’re gonna want that sucker) and an Amazon gift card (min. $25).  Because I’m an Amazon Associate, I earn a percentage of Amazon sales and promotion entries made from my site, and that revenue is exactly what I’ll be using for the gift card.  This means the more people who enter my contest, the greater the gift card amount.  Just imagine what you could buy with $25, $50, $100, $200, or GASP even more on Amazon!

How do people enter?

It’s simple:

  • Sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial (Open only to current non-Prime customers. Already a Prime customer? No worries. You can still enter by sharing this post on Facebook and Twitter).  Amazon Prime offers:
    • 40,000 instant movies and TV episodes with titles for the whole family
    • 2-day free shipping on Prime-eligible goods
    • Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, which allows members to borrow select books for free
  • Share this giveaway post on Facebook
  • Share this giveaway post on Twitter

See?  So easy!  And best of all, it’s free to you and only takes a couple minutes.  And Amazon Prime is awesome.  I am a member, and I use it for free and timely shipping, to stream videos and episodes on my Smart Board in the classroom and on my TV through my Wii at home, and to purchase discounted items available only to Prime members.  Plus, Prime members can sign up a select number of friends and family to share in the benefits of the membership with them at no additional cost.  Even if you don’t want to keep Prime after your trial expires (which is totally fine), you’ll still benefit from its exclusive offers during your trial period.

When does the contest end, and how will the winner be notified?

The contest runs now through the end of the month, ending on January 31, 2014 at 11:59 pm.  The Terminator robots automated blog contest software will randomly select a winner.  I will notify the winner through another blog post on this site as well as on Facebook and Twitter (so if you’re not already a follower of mine, be sure to click those social media icons in the upper left of the website to stay up-to-date!)

Sounds great!  So now what?

Now it’s time to enter this thing!  Simply complete the steps below and share, share, share to increase the gift card amount!
