5 Reasons ADHD Isn’t All Crap

Having ADHD or loving someone with ADHD can be a challenge. But it isn't all bad. Here are 5 reasons ADHD has its benefits.

Many look at ADHD as a bad thing, finding faults in a child diagnosed.Well, I’m here to shed some light on ADHD and say it does have its positives.

My son has ADHD, and it’s a learning process for sure. No two ideas work the same for him and his brother. I cannot have the long chats with him; I have to change the way I talk. But that doesn’t mean ADHD is all bad.

Here are 5 reasons ADHD isn’t all crap.

1. It Fosters Spontaneity

Are you afraid of jumping? Your ADHD child/spouse is not. They may give you the courage to try something new. They live with act, don’t think ingrained in their minds.

2. It Builds Energy

If you think you’re too tired to do something, let them show you what you’re missing out on. Once you see the fun in their eyes, you’ll want to join in as well. They push you to your limits and still ask for more. I might ask my son to help me get into shape!

3. Emotions Aren’t Always a Burden

Sometimes we let our emotions guide us. People with ADHD aren’t thinking that far ahead. They will plunge head first into a task no matter how heart-wrenching it may be.

4. Cleanliness is a Virtue

Is there something you need cleaned? People with ADHD have a hard time sitting still. Their minds are always working. See if they have a way for you to clean that takes less time! My ADHD son enjoys helping me and often starts cleaning for no other reason than his need to move.

5. There is So Much Love to Go Around

While their emotions are not always in the right place at the right time, their hearts are huge. ADHD people are some of the most loyal people I have ever met. They don’t have time to think about their actions; they defend and love unconditionally.

My son having ADHD isn’t a curse. It’s not even something I hate. It’s a challenge for us every day. We learn together what works and what does not.

If someone you love has ADHD, don’t throw in the towel yet! Just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. Hug that special ADHD person in your life. They might need it to slow them down for a minute.
