RNC Chairwoman Refutes Michelle Obama’s Claim GOP Is ‘All White,’ Says It’s Only 99.3% White

The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, blasted former first lady Michelle Obama on Thursday for her suggestion that Republicans are essentially “all men, all white.”

Speaking to the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, the former first lady alleged that congressional Republicans are primarily white men.

“What you can see is this real dichotomy — on one side of the room, it’s a feeling of color,” Obama said.  “On one side of the room, it’s literally gray and white.”

The RNC Chairwoman ripped Obama for her inaccuracies. “We are proud that 1 percent of the Senate, and 0.46 percent of the House of Representatives, is comprised of African-American Republicans,” McDaniel said.

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott is the only African-American Republican Senator. There are two African-American GOP Members of the House: Rep. Mia Love (Utah-4) and Rep. Will Hurd (TX-23).

“It’s unfortunate Michelle Obama would disregard the contributions of the three, out of 292, Congressional Republicans with one sweeping, false accusation,” McDaniel told Fox News on Thursday.

“There’s a big difference between 100 percent white and 99 percent white.”
