RECALL: Infant Cradle Swings

Fisher-Price has issued a recall for three models of its Cradle n Swings products due to the risk of injury that can occur when the seat peg is not fully engaged, resulting in a potential fall for the child.

Specifically, the recall includes:

…three models of the Fisher-Price cradle swings: CHM84 Soothing Savanna Cradle ‘n Swing, CMR40 Sweet Surroundings Cradle ‘n Swing, and CMR43 Sweet Surroundings Butterfly Friends Cradle ‘n Swing. The swings have two different swinging motions – rocking side-to-side, or swinging head-to-toe, and six different swing speeds from low to high. The product number is located on the seat under the pad.

Additional recall details specify that the recall covers:

  • about 34,000 units
  • sold between November 2015 and March 2016
  • retail stores include Target, buybuyBaby, Amazon.com, and other online stores
  • product sold for approximately $170

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have been two reports of faulty seat pegs, though thankfully no injuries have yet been reported.

Consumers are urged to cease use of the product and contact Fisher-Price immediately for a revised list of assembly instructions.
