New Mother Finishes Thank-You Notes

By Abbie Pappas of Stay_At_Work_Mom

A 29-year-old mother residing in New York City has finished writing thank-you notes for the gifts received after her child’s birth, despite having returned to work last month, a source reports.

This extraordinary feat was accomplished by Amy Grossberg, who resides in Midtown Manhattan.

Grossberg, who gave birth to newborn daughter Talia five months ago, worked endlessly to ensure that no monogrammed towel or Sophie le Giraffe went unnoticed. Although Ms. Grossberg still had several unwritten thank-you notes listed on her Excel spreadsheet upon returning to her job as an accountant in mid-May, she dedicated her free time between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. each day to getting the job done.

Ms. Grossberg remarks that she could not have accomplished this rare feat “without the support of her family and friends,” and especially her husband, whom she claims “addressed six of the 132 envelopes.”

Studies show that, amongst new mothers, only 43% ever finish writing thank-you notes for gifts received after a child is born. Of those 43%, only 31% have completed those thank-you notes by their child’s first birthday. Grossberg, who finished all 132 thank-you notes by the time her daughter was 22 weeks old, is amongst the top .01% of mothers nationwide.

Having finished her thank-you notes, Grossberg plans to turn her attention toward her Gmail inbox, which has been neglected since late 2016.
