Desperate Mom Lets Picky Toddler Snack On Dog Food

By Karlie Holliday of Just Sleep On It

A local mother was caught feeding her 2-year-old son dog food at Pinewoods Park on Tuesday afternoon. A visitor at the park claimed the child was walking around with a snack cup full of dog food.

The visitor explained, “My daughter thought the boy was eating Cocoa Puffs, so when he dropped a piece on the sidewalk, she quickly grabbed it with excitement and popped it into her mouth. But I knew something was wrong when she immediately spit it out and yelled, ‘YUCK! That tastes like Sadie’s food!’ Sadie is our 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel.

“I immediately picked up the soggy, half-eaten mystery off of the sidewalk and smelled it.  Sure enough, it was dog food. My initial concern was how my daughter knew what Sadie’s food tasted like, but that’s a separate issue.”

When confronted about the incident, the mom of the boy explained that she started feeding her son dog food about a week ago and that he is really enjoying it. She exclaimed, “He hasn’t eaten this much in months!

“I am not necessarily proud of this, but I felt like I had no choice — I was running out of options. I couldn’t just sit back and allow him to eat nothing but chicken nuggets and Goldfish crackers. That isn’t healthy and my son’s health is my number one priority.”

The mother admitted that she noticed her son constantly hovering over their dog’s food bowl, so when she caught him eating some with a pleasant look on his face, she knew that she had to give it a try.

“I have always tried to go by the saying ‘Fed is best,'” said the mother in question.

Additionally, the mom claimed, “I guess I just don’t see what the problem is. The dog food contains deboned chicken, brown rice, blueberries, peas, and carrots, which is everything he refuses to eat in regular form. For the record, I give him Blue Buffalo because my son deserves nothing but the best.”

At press time, the mother was seen handing out recipes to park-goers for homemade dog food Chex Mix.
