Dad Who Took out Garbage Thinks He Cleaned Entire House

Two days after walking several bags of trash 30 feet from his house to the curb, Pittsburgh man Kent McInerney is still congratulating himself on a job well done.

“I don’t want to brag or anything, but I’m no slacker on the homefront,” McInerney said. “Even though I have a job, hit the gym regularly, and play a weekly game of golf, I make sure I give the wife a break every once in a while and handle all the chores.”

McInerney seemed to be under the impression that the singular act of taking out the garbage this week (a task which he had previously neglected to do for three weeks straight) was the extent of the household’s chores.

“She does so much around here, so this was the least I could do,” he said.

“Literally the least he could do,” his wife Pamela agreed.

Speaking to reporters in private on Saturday after Kent cheerfully announced he was off to “hit the links,” Pamela admitted that she typically alternates between seething rage and total bemusement at her husband’s obliviousness.

“We have three sons. Those garbage cans he emptied smell better than any of their rooms. And let’s not even get started on the literal shit show going on in the bathroom they share. If I left the cleaning up to Kent, our boys would have been seized by the authorities years ago.”

Asked how she managed to keep their home livable given her husband’s haplessness, Pamela laughed and replied, “Oh, that’s easy. I have a cleaning lady who comes in once a week when Kent is out golfing.”
