Dad Hilariously Edits Mom’s Baby Care Instructions

Anytime I leave my kids with a babysitter, I like to leave a note with a few pointers to help the babysitter’s chances of survival. Ya know, like, where we keep the fire extinguisher, which kid will try to set the house on fire, and how to get out before the whole thing goes up in flames.

One mom’s care instructions have the internet LOL-ing after her hilarious husband made some quick edits and shared them on Reddit.

The bullet point instruction list starts with basic care instructions, like, “Change Diaper when he wakes up,” prompting Dad’s first of many inquiries: “Why is this not lower case?” with an arrow drawn to the letter in question.

He doesn’t stop with grammatical changes and opts to dress the baby in “whatever he looks awesome in” instead of Mom’s recommendation of a warm onesie with feet.

I think we can all agree, dads often have a different definition of “awesome.” There’s a good chance that kid is going to be dressed like a Storm Trooper when Mom gets home.

Like any good father, he pencils in time for learning. Teach the baby how to play Nintendo replaced “FaceTime with Mom!” (I’m sure she was thrilled about that one.)

And, while most of the note provides detailed instruction, one bullet point is more informational–“Bottle warmer is already in the diaper bag.”–prompting Dad to add, “aka can’t screw this one up.”

Where’s the faith, Mom?

Mom isn’t only worried about keeping the baby alive. She also adds a special section reminding Dad to feed the fish, but it’s too late to save the family pet, as Dad notes, “already died, R.I.P.”

The sarcasm-laced edits include Dad’s hilarious FAQs section, which highlights the questions we all ask ourselves when caring for a small child:

  • When do I eat?
  • Where is the dog?
  • What do I eat?
  • How do I cook?
  • What if I don’t make it?

It’s clear this mom may have had some reservations about leaving her mini-me for a few days, but with a sense of humor like that, I have a hunch Dad will be just fine.
