Beer Thief Looks Exactly Like Ross Geller And The Comments Are Internet Gold

Police in Blackpool, U.K. have taken to social media in the hopes of finding out the identity of a man suspected of shoplifting a case of beer from a restaurant on September 20. They pose the question, “Do you recognise this man?” And we all raise our hands and say, “Yes! Yes, we do!” Because the man in question? Bears an uncanny resemblance to Ross Geller from the sitcom Friends. Take a look.

I mean, obviously it’s not Ross (because clearly it’s RUSS).

But that didn’t stop Friends fans on Facebook from coming out in droves and weighing in on the Ross look-a-like. While the over 250,000 comments provide little in the way of actual clues for finding the perpetrator, they do, however, provide some comic relief à la Friends.

Annnnnd, now we’re all singing. Don’t even try to deny it. Just in case you’ve forgotten the rest of the words to the famous theme song, let Freddy help you out…

I’ll be there for you. When the rain starts to pour. I’ll be there for you. Like I’ve been there before…sorry, now it’s stuck in my head. Possibly forever.

Of course, the Rembrandts aren’t the only ones with memorable lines from the series.

“Pivot!!” Need I say more?

There was also mention of the infamous “break.”

And the following short-lived reunion of Ross and Rachel, which lasted a hot five seconds until Rachel felt the need to pour out her thoughts on 18 pages…front and back.

The jokes didn’t end there.

I have no idea what Unagi is, but he does and he’s not afraid to use it or reach it or whatever.

One mississippi, two mississippi, three mississippily…

There are many who are defending Ross’s innocence and have named alternate suspects (it’s Russ, you guys, obviously).

And, according to one fan at least, Ross is FINE.

In case you were wondering, so is David Schwimmer, who responded to the attention in the most Ross way possible, denying any wrongdoing. As we all know Ross does.

He posted the following on Facebook along with a video spoofing the viral crime photo.

Officers, I swear it wasn’t me.
As you can see, I was in New York.
To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation.

The Blackpool Police? Have also officially cleared David’s name of any criminal activity and thanked everyone for their speedy responses.

They are, however, still on the lookout for Russ.
