Report Says Babies Should Eat Peanut Butter Sooner, Facebook Mommy Group Disagrees

By Kristina Johnson of thatmommylady.com

A link to a news article that said doctors now recommend giving peanut butter to babies sooner rather than later drew an avalanche of angry-face emojis when it was posted in the “Mama Bears United” Facebook group this week.

Dozens of comments soon followed, most along the lines of, “Where do these doctors even get their info?!” and “Do they not read blogs?!”

“I won’t be following this,” said one mom, “because I actually love my child. We’ll stick with our $12-dollar-a-jar, organic sunflower butter on Ezekiel bread, thanks.”

Another mom said that the doctors behind the new guidelines were probably a sad bunch of losers who had most likely been paid off by the peanut butter lobby.

The lone voice of dissent in the group, who argued that the doctors had probably studied the risks carefully before reaching their conclusion, was quickly shot down and called a sheep.
