Who are you?
Excellent question. Sammiches and Psych Meds and its satirical division, MockMom, is a community of candid and often humorous writers using the keyboard as a form of therapy for surviving the trials of parenthood, politics, teaching, marriage and relationships, and life in general.
Founder Lola Lolita is a working mother, wife, lifelong learner and high school educator, and wine addict. Well, maybe not ADDICT. Wine lover. That makes it sound less like a problem and more like a hobby.
Our website is run by three regular moms with a gaggle of kids and jobs outside the home. We have zero corporate backing and rely on advertising revenue and donations to keep the site up and running and to offer writers some pocket change to grab a cup of coffee every once in a while. You can help us out by liking and sharing our work and even donating to our tip jar if you enjoy the entertainment we provide:
We hope you will join us, laugh with us, rant with us, forgive us when we cross a line or two, and stick with us. Interested in getting weekly updates on our shenanigans? Subscribe to our newsletter. Want to join our writing team? Check out our submissions and contributor application requirements.

Why “Sammiches and Psych Meds”?
Because lately, Lola’s life is characterized by making sandwiches for school lunches, making sandwiches for snacks, making sandwiches for dinner when she forgets the little people she created need food to survive, and eating sandwiches. Oh, and psych meds because she needs them when she’s stressed to keep her from shaving the dogs and hot-gluing tufts of hair to random parts of her husband’s body while he’s sleeping.
How do I, in the event of delirium or extreme drunkenness, get in contact with you? You know, just in case I wind up thinking THAT might be a good idea?
